We are thrilled to present a new Panamá Gesha. When I had my first coffee from Los Lajones back in April of last year, its complexity and balance instantly sold me. When we tried this lot, it reminded us of a natural Kotowa gesha we previously released. This lot is defined as 8AB, with AB describing the process. You’ll find this description quite common among Panamanian coffees. This washed coffee has notes of Blood Orange, Jasmine, Lemon Verbena, sharp bright acidity, the bittersweet rind of Satsuma, and a Nectarine sweetness. We bought this lot via Forward coffee run by Cole Torode, whom I met a few months ago via instagram. We bonded over our love for Panamanian coffee. Los Lajones was founded and is owned by Graciano Cruz, located on the slopes of Volcán Barú. Los Lajones has placed in the top 10 of Best of Panamá multiple times, with the quality consistently delivering. This coffee undergoes an anaerobic process for 3 days, with a one day washed fermentation and dried on raised African beds at 2000 MASL. This definitely won’t be the last offering we get from Graciano and his team. We hope you enjoy this coffee’s complex nature and the care and expertise the farmers provided.
